Robin Van Persie has been in superb form since the start of the calender year, and is scoring goals for fun. He has been leading the line for Arsenal supported by Theo Walcott and Andrey Arshavin. Robin scored another two goals for the Arsenal against Wolves at the weekend to add to his growing tally for the season so far. Robin may even be a long shot for the golden boot even at this late stage of the season.
Robin has always clearly had the talent to be a world class striker, but injuries have always held him back. In recent years he has always seemed to be injured but has now been on an injury free run since late December. He is in the form of his life and has already scored 12 goals in 12 starts in all competitions. If the flying Dutchman can continue in this form it will give Arsenal a huge boost when it comes to challenging for trophies on four fronts. He has now scored 11 in his last 9 games and hopefully he can add to his tally on Wednesday evening against Barcelona.
Robin can be the key to defeating Barcelona mainly due to his threat in front of goal. He is a proven goalscorer and links up brilliantly with the rest of the team and seems to have a special understanding with the captain Cesc Fabregas. This understanding between the two is enough by itself to take a team apart when the duo are on form and they will need to be to defeat Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium. When Robin Van Persie gets a chance he normally scores and is a proven finisher. I'm sure if Robin is given the chances by Cesc and Co on Wednesday that he can score 1 if not 2 especially against a Barcelona defence missing their leader Carlos Puyol.
